Accessioning Technician (Contract-Phoenix, AZ)
Job Summary
Accessioning Technicians are responsible for the receipt and data entry of samples for diagnostic testing. This is a contract position in Phoenix, AZ (6 months, possible extension).
Responsibilities
- Receive and data enter samples for diagnostic testing.
- Black out the slide, print a label – put on the slide with no impact to the sample on the slide.
- Split cases into replicates and label each.
- Record each label onto Excel.
- Ensure all sample information is accurately entered in a laboratory information management system allowing the sample to move forward for testing.
Requirements
- A degree in Biology or a closely related field is preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent computer and data entry skills, particularly strong in MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrate an ability to multitask.
- Must be able to work independently as well as work collaboratively within the team environment.
- Prior experience with a laboratory information management system is a plus.
- Good written and communication skills.
Qualifications
A strong background in biology or a related field is preferred, but not required. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent computer and data entry skills, and the ability to multitask. Prior experience with a laboratory information management system is a plus.
