Access Worker – Intake & Assessment Unit

About the role

This position serves as the primary access/intake worker for the Children and Families Unit. Access is the process for receiving, analyzing, and documenting reports of alleged child abuse or neglect. The role involves gathering sufficient information to assess child safety and creating a comprehensive report/referral in the appropriate database for supervisor review. The supervisor then determines any necessary departmental action.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze information related to reports of alleged child abuse or neglect.
• Document reports accurately and timely in the appropriate database.
• Provide input on screening decisions, urgency, and response time based on threats to child safety.
• Engage with reporters using strong interview skills to obtain necessary information.

Pay

$28.96 – $31.31 hourly.
