What this job involves: As an Access Control Specialist, you serve as a key member of the team responsible for maintaining the security and operational integrity of client facilities during maintenance operations. Your primary responsibilities include escorting maintenance contractors within restricted areas while ensuring strict adherence to security protocols, performing administrative maintenance tasks, and coordinating vendor activities. You take on entry-level project management responsibilities for small maintenance and repair projects, maintaining detailed documentation of all activities. This role is integral to ensuring facilities remain secure, well-maintained, and efficiently operated while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. What your day-to-day will look like: Review the daily schedule for planned maintenance activities and coordinate with vendors scheduled for on-site workEscort maintenance contractors into restricted spaces, ensuring adherence to all security protocols and access only to authorized areasUpdate and maintain access control software systems, ensuring accuracy and security complianceProcess vendor work orders administratively, tracking progress and confirming completion of assigned tasksCommunicate with JLL maintenance stakeholders regarding the status of ongoing work and project updatesMaintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, vendor interactions, and security-related incidentsOversee small maintenance and repair projects, coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverablesRespond to urgent maintenance needs and security concerns as they arise throughout the day Required qualifications: Strong technical acumen and electronics troubleshooting skillsValid Driver's License with ability to travel between local client sitesAbility to work effectively as a self-starter in both structured and unstructured environments with strict attention to detailStrong electronic communication skills for coordinating with team members, managers, vendors, and clientsFamiliarity with general electrical and electronics safety procedures and protocolsDemonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage time effectively, and work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities Preferred qualifications: Previous experience with security operations, classified areas, and restricted access environmentsExperience with work order management systems and technical documentation processesUnderstanding of preventive maintenance principles and inventory management practicesAbility to learn new hardware and software systems quickly with minimal supervisionExperience working in commercial or industrial facility environmentsProfessional appearance and demeanor with strong teamwork mentality and collaborative approach
