Access Clinician (RPN/SW/OT Gr3 or 4 or PSY Gr2 or 3) - headspace Elsternwick/Bentleigh

About the role

We are seeking two part-time (0.6 EFT / 45.6 hours per fortnight) Access Clinicians to join the headspace Elsternwick Access team until June 2027. Based in Elsternwick and Bentleigh, this role is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists at Grade 3 or 4, or Psychologists at Grade 2 or 3, depending on experience. The position offers frequent professional development opportunities and regular professional supervision.

headspace provides a ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged 12–25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health challenges. We promote a 'no wrong door' approach, offering support through GPs, counsellors, alcohol and other drug workers, and vocational and educational services. Responsibilities

• Conduct access assessments and provide session-by-session appointments for young people.
• Deliver ongoing therapeutic support to young people, including those experiencing trauma, educational/vocational challenges, social needs, or alcohol and other drug issues.
• Participate in and establish partnerships with other services working with young people to create supportive networks.
• Provide individual, family, and group treatments for adolescents and young adults presenting with behavioural, emotional, social, or developmental issues, including alcohol and other drug concerns.
• Engage and assess adolescents, young people, and their families, including flexible outreach where needed.

Requirements

• Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychology) and eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body (e.g., Nursing and Midwifery Board, Occupational Therapy Board, Psychology Board via AHPRA, or AASW).
• Demonstrated competence in delivering a full range of mental health services for adolescents and young adults.
• Extensive experience in engagement, assessment, and flexible outreach with young people and their families.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience for senior roles.
• Current Victorian Driver’s License.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a background check.
• Appropriate work visa (if applicable).
