About the role

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) seeks an experienced Access & Appointing Consultant to join their Care Experience team. This role supports patient access, clinician scheduling, and operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive access-related initiatives using analytics and data-driven decision-making to improve performance and patient access outcomes.
  • Design, standardize, and maintain clinician templates and scheduling libraries for assigned departments.
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives related to scheduling optimization, workflow improvements, and access enhancement.
  • Maintain department performance against access targets and recommend solutions that address root causes and improve outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain clinician schedules to ensure appointment supply meets patient demand and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate schedules with clinical responsibilities including clinic time, call duties, ETO, and schedule changes.
  • Deploy scheduling automation and improve efficiency through tools such as Qgenda and other scheduling systems.
  • Partner with physician leaders, operational leaders, CASE, and payroll to ensure accurate communication and schedule management.
  • Track access analytics and reporting to identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
  • Manage provider payroll and ensure accurate reporting of physician hours within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical, staff scheduling, and/or related operational experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience working with senior and operational leaders.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with scheduling applications.
  • Two (2) or more years of project management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience gathering, organizing, and interpreting data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of project management and/or consulting experience.
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
