Academic Tutor - Writing Center - Hourly

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals/small groups of students in fundamental and advanced areas of writing, including essays, research papers, and other college writing.
• Support classroom instruction.
• Maintain records.
• Supervise use of materials and facilities.
• Analyze individual student writing needs.
• Develop learning objectives to meet those needs.
• Monitor student progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or closely related field is required.
• Knowledge of word processing.
• In-depth knowledge of the process approach to writing instruction.
• Excellent grammar and interpersonal/communication skills.
• Ability to work with students with special needs and students for whom English is a second language.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations

• Evening availability preferred.

Pay

$22.05/hr
