About the role

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students in the Science Learning Lab. The position is part-time, with an 80% full-time equivalent (FTE), and works out a schedule with the lab director.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually and in small groups with disciplinary content and study strategies.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide supplemental instruction.
• Aid students with basic technology skills.
• Guide students to additional support services.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a biological science or a related scientific or healthcare field.
• One (1) academic year of experience serving as a tutor, teacher, or teaching assistant in a biology-related field.
• One (1) year of professional experience in a related field, such as laboratory work or research in a biology-related field.
• Previous experience in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, or Microbiology at the college level.

Qualifications

• Masters, PhD, MD, or other healthcare-related degree considered.

Skills

Proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with students in a fast-paced environment.
