About the role

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Utah seeks an Academic Hepatologist to join their dynamic and established Transplant Hepatology Program. The program includes 5 transplant hepatologists, 4 abdominal transplant surgeons, 6 transplant coordinators, 11 advanced practice providers, and 5 transplant pharmacists, all dedicated to providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care for transplant and general hepatology, including inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Participate in outreach activities as needed.
  • Share in inpatient time among the hepatology faculty on a rotating basis.
  • Academic duties may include teaching or mentoring gastroenterology fellows and medical house staff, contributing to educational conferences, and engaging in clinical or basic science research.
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive care model for patients with steatotic liver disease through collaborations with various departments.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology (ABIM).
  • Board eligibility in Transplant Hepatology (ABIM).
  • Eligibility for a Utah medical license.

  • Minimum requirements: MD or equivalent medical degree, board certification in Gastroenterology (ABIM), board eligibility in Transplant Hepatology (ABIM), and eligibility for a Utah medical license.
  • PREFERRED qualifications: board certification in Transplant Hepatology (ABIM).
