Transplant Hepatologist

About the role

The ideal candidate should be board certified or board eligible in Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology. Clinical duties would include outpatient clinic seeing general hepatology, pre- and post-transplant patients, outpatient endoscopy, and inpatient service 1 in 4-5 weeks. Night/weekend call is shared with GI, approximately 5-6 weeks total per year. Inpatient and outpatient duties are supported by a team of experienced NPs, PAs, and RNs. The position includes teaching students, residents and fellows. A clinical or health services research focus is encouraged, with average 3 half-days per week protected time provided.

Requirements

The liver transplant program is one of the largest in California, averaging 100-110 transplants per year. We have satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and the nearby Riverside county hospital. Loma Linda is the only tertiary/quaternary program in the Inland Empire, serving Riverside and San Bernardino counties with a combined population of >4 million.

Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology

Pay

$340,000 - $400,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans.
