Academic Support Teaching Assistant 1.0

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position for the 2026/2027 school year.

Requirements

• At least 36 college credit hours (official transcripts required; translated if applicable), or
• Completion of substitute teacher training (copy of high-school diploma, GED, or HiSET required; translated if applicable)

Either requirement above must be accompanied by a DESE Substitute Certification before employment begins.

About the Role

This position works in conjunction with school administration, counselors, and teachers to tailor services that meet students’ specific academic needs.

Scope of Influence

This role directly impacts school-level staff efforts to address student academic needs. It involves working with students, communicating with parents and guardians, and collaborating across the district.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the school’s study-hall classroom.
• Provide on-site check-ins and academic interventions to support students throughout the day.
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address individual student academic needs.
• Collect data and conduct daily check-ins with individual students on an ongoing basis.
