Position Overview
Job Description
- Assists students in the areas of student academic case management through KU’s early alert system.
- Performs student outreach and appointment scheduling.
- Provides peer-level academic connection and guidance with fundamental student skills.
- Focused on overcoming personal and academic barriers for individual students.
- Refers students to success resources.
- Enters data related to student outreach, texts, emails, and phone calls.
- Closes student cases as appropriate for tracking.
- Learns and refers students to the breadth of support systems available at KU.
- Engages in weekly staff meetings and different engagement opportunities.
- Continues learning through engagement with representatives from across campus regarding student support services, resources, policies, etc.
- Provides program feedback for continuous improvement.
- Updates program materials as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work a minimum of 6 hours per week.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite as demonstrated in the application materials.
- Previous experience providing high quality customer service, as evidenced by application materials.
- Must be in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligible for Federal Work Study through KU Financial Aid.
- Experience with applied motivational strategies in an academic setting.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology systems.
- Experience multitasking / executing multiple projects simultaneously.
Employment Conditions
This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
