Academic Success Coordinator

About the Role
The Academic Success Coordinator supports the University’s student success initiatives by providing services and programs focused on learning and academic skills to foster undergraduate academic success, improve retention and completion rates, and enhance post-graduation outcomes.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), requiring immediate reporting of any reported crimes to University Police and annual training. It is also a "designated position," meaning the role may require working during emergency closings. Additionally, the position is a "responsible employee" with the authority to redress sexual violence and the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of academic success programs and support services for all undergraduate students.
- Support the instructional component of college transition courses (COLL 141: Student Success Seminar, COLL 140: The Transitional Learner, and COLL 150: The Intentional Learner) as needed.
- Research, develop, assess, and implement best practices in academic success support services; participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain a caseload of undergraduate students, conducting individual meetings and creating personal action plans for academic success.
- Monitor the progress of "at-risk" students or those in academic jeopardy, developing and implementing intervention plans tailored to individual needs.
- Hold "drop-in" hours for students requiring immediate academic success assistance.
- Develop, implement, and conduct workshops, programs, and intervention strategies to support undergraduate academic success and degree completion.
- Participate in the Division’s "recruit back" program to identify and communicate with students who have stopped out, encouraging re-enrollment and supporting degree completion.
- Assist with orientation programs for new freshmen and transfer students, focusing on academic expectations and transition support.
- Maintain detailed records of student meetings, workshop attendance, and outreach activities.
- Assist the Director with student assessments, marketing for the Center for Academic Success, Tutoring Center, and peer mentoring program, and daily social media postings.
- Represent the Center at university events such as open houses, orientation, commencement, and honors celebrations.
- Support planning and execution of events like Signing Day, LAUNCH, and other academic success initiatives.
- Provide programming for the Community Captains Program (pre-admission and transition support) and Captains’ Connection Program (transfer student support).
- Maintain positive and professional customer service relations with all constituencies, upholding the University’s "Student’s First" value.
- Review and communicate safety issues to ensure a safe workplace; adhere to safety regulations and report incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Education, College Student Development, Psychology, or a related field (or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent work experience).
- Graduate degree must include 18+ credits in college student development, higher education, counseling, psychology, or related disciplines.
- Experience working with students in mentoring, coaching, or advising capacities.
- Experience providing academic success coaching to undergraduate students.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing programs and activities to support undergraduate student success.
- Experience teaching academic success strategies or facilitating workshops and intervention programs.
- Experience using social media platforms to promote student support services.
- Availability for evening and weekend programs and events.

Pay
Salary range: $50,887 to $60,000, commensurate with education and experience.
