Academic Scholar - Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor - Department of Surgery
Position Summary
The Department of Surgery within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), is seeking a highly qualified Breast Surgeon with a commitment to serving underrepresented and minority populations. This full-time position will be based at our major affiliated teaching hospitals, with an appointment at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing equitable healthcare access and will demonstrate a passion for providing culturally sensitive, patient-centered care for diverse communities. Overall duties include:
- Serving as attending physician for inpatient breast surgery services
- Providing consultation, treatment, and follow-up for patients with a focus on addressing the unique healthcare needs of underserved populations
- Teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students with an emphasis on cultural competency and inclusivity
- Engaging in clinical and basic science research, as well as participating in clinical trials that promote advancements in breast surgery and health equity
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have a MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Breast Surgery.
- Fellowship training in Breast/Oncologic Surgery.
