Academic Program Specialist
About the Role
This position provides specialized administrative support for the Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine. This individual provides assistance of high-level and technical support to faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students. This position reports to the direct supervisor or Department Head.
Worksite Description
This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of Relevant Experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Personal computing and data entry courses, business procedures course.
- Knowledge of computers and software, public relations skills, general secretarial skills.
- Positive and cooperative relationships with faculty, students, and colleagues.
- Good listening skills and ability to follow through on assignments.
- Demonstrated good judgment and independent decision-making.
- General knowledge of English grammar and spelling.
Responsibilities
- Assist all faculty and students.
- Update the telephone directory for faculty, staff, and students.
- Order office supplies for the department using General Ledger and state contracted accounts as needed.
- Responsible for reimbursements from the Foundation for faculty members and candidates.
