About the role

The Academic Program Coordinator - MSN Specialty Practice serves as a subject matter expert and mentor of designated specialty. They stay current in specialty industry trends and standards, maintaining and enhancing a network of industry leaders to support an informed curriculum within the specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor of designated specialty.
  • Stay current in specialty industry trends and standards. Maintain and enhance network of industry leaders to support an informed curriculum within the specialty.
  • Manage faculty within assigned specialty. Mentor and coach faculty, monitoring faculty performance to meet University and College of Nursing requirements.
  • Lead faculty meetings within specialty for both full-time and adjunct faculty, ensuring faculty are up to date with University and College of Nursing changes. Facilitate a team environment within the specialty, encouraging open communication and shared governance.
  • Build rapport and maintain frequent communication with both full-time and adjunct faculty within the specialty.
  • Respond to and investigate student concerns, documenting progress and outcome in appropriate platforms.
  • Interview, hire, and manage onboarding of new faculty. Keep updated shared record of current faculty (FT and adjunct).
  • Support an atmosphere of innovation and best practices, helping to lead MSN specialty program quality improvement. Serve as a change leader within the MSN-SP programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in the relevant discipline and area. Specialty certification and relevant work experience within the specialty required
  • Three to five years teaching experience at the graduate level required. Online teaching experience preferred.

Additional Information

  • In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,696.34 and $110,957.05. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
