Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Professor of the Practice, or Instructional-Open Rank
About the role
The Engineering Academic & Student Affairs office, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for one (non-tenure accruing) faculty position in one of the following titles: lecturer, senior lecturer, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, or professor of the practice. The title and rank will depend on background, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach primarily at the undergraduate level and provide support for the development of the General Engineering (first-year) undergraduate program and curriculum.
- Participate in all aspects of the department’s activities.
- Serve the profession.
- Organize, deliver, evaluate and assess the engineering courses and student outcomes associated with those courses.
- Serve as a liaison between College Station and Galveston engineering programs.
- Teach engineering courses including, but may not be limited to, introductory engineering; programming; statics and dynamics; mechanics and electricity & magnetism.

Pay
For appointment at the Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have either: A master’s degree in an appropriate field (a closely related engineering or science discipline) and significant college-level teaching experience in that field or a related discipline; OR An extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting In addition, applicants must have at least 15 years of experience as a practicing engineer.
Schedule
For appointments at the Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach. Teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field is preferred.
