Responsibilities

  • Teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the Architectural Engineering program
  • Advising and mentoring undergraduate students
  • Participating in departmental activities
  • Serving the profession

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree or master’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, or a closely related discipline appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach
  • Significant teaching experience at the college level in the field or a related field, or an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting
  • Expertise in teaching fundamental sophomore- and junior-level courses in architectural engineering, particularly in engineering mechanics and thermal-fluid sciences
  • Preference for candidates with academic preparation in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, or closely related disciplines
  • Potential preference for candidates holding a doctoral degree and/or professional licensure

Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

The Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University is among the leading civil and environmental engineering departments in the nation. The department currently includes 55 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and 22 Academic Professional Track faculty members and serves more than 900 undergraduate and 370 graduate students.
