Academic Nephrologist
About the role
The Division of Nephrology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Health seeks academic nephrologists with interest or expertise in clinical care, research, or education. Candidates must be ABIM Board certified or Board eligible in nephrology. Percent of time spent in clinical care vs. research vs. education is negotiable. We are motivated to tailor job descriptions to maximize chances for long-term career success. Appointment rank and series will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be expected to contribute to the division's mission of providing exceptional patient care, conducting innovative research, and teaching future nephrologists. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Providing clinical care to patients with kidney diseases
- Participating in clinical trials and research projects
- Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of the nephrology program
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A medical degree (MD or DO)
- ABIM Board certification or Board eligibility in nephrology
- Current medical license in good standing
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in clinical practice
- Research experience
- Teaching experience

Benefits
This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
Pay
The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is flexible and will be negotiated based on the candidate's experience and the needs of the department.
