About the role
The Emory University Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks a non-tenure track Surgical Pathologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor to join an interactive, collegial group of faculty who evaluate a wide variety of medical and transplant renal specimens in a subspecialized setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate a wide variety of medical and transplant renal specimens in a subspecialized setting.
- Collaborate with Emory investigators at the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Winship Cancer Institute and the Emory National Primate Research Center.
- Participate in clinical and translational scholarship and teaching opportunities.
- Work with Emory pathologists to innovate, including the development of belatacept, a novel immunosuppression agent for kidney transplantation.
Requirements
- Board-eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Georgia.
- Fellowship training and/or expertise in renal pathology is required.
- Interest in a second anatomic pathology subspecialty is desirable.
Qualifications
- Experience in evaluating medical and transplant renal specimens.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of faculty members.
- Knowledge of renal pathology and related subspecialties.
- Interest in translational research and clinical scholarship.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Interest in and ability to engage in translational research.
