Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of Nursing emerges from the challenge to meet the manpower needs for quality health care locally, nationally, and globally. The role and scope of the Department of Nursing are reflected in the characteristics of selected learning environments and their ability to enhance individual productivity in a changing society. The Department of Nursing provides essential service to improve the quality of life for all people through quality educational programs, research, and scholarly endeavors, and community service.

Primary Purpose of Position

• Provide consistent advisement for all pre-nursing and nursing students and veterans.
• Collaborate with the Director of Student Support Services and Senior Advisor in planning, coordinating, and evaluating Student Support Services.
• Aid in recruitment, pre-admission tracking and advising, admissions, orientation, registration, financial aid, graduation, and management of student information systems.
• Assist with the formation and maintenance of policies related to student admissions and advisement.

Minimum Education/Experience

• A Master’s degree is required.
• A minimum of two years of work experience is preferred.
