About the Role
The University of Kentucky is seeking an Academic Coordinator to support the academic operations of the College of Design. This role serves as a key resource for course scheduling, academic administration, student support initiatives, event coordination, and compliance activities. Working closely with faculty, program leadership, Student Success, and university partners, the successful candidate will help ensure academic programs operate efficiently while supporting a positive student experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage course scheduling and classroom assignments across all College of Design programs
- Create and maintain course sections, instructor assignments, enrollment capacities, and scheduling data in university systems
- Coordinate with academic leadership to resolve scheduling conflicts and support curriculum implementation
- Support studio placements, enrollment adjustments, curriculum workflows, and scholarship administration
- Serve as a resource for faculty navigating academic processes and curriculum approval systems
- Coordinate college-wide student events, including K-Week, Graduate Student Orientation, Commencement, and the Design Career Fair
- Assist faculty with accommodation workflows and monitor academic compliance deadlines
- Maintain records and reporting needed for accreditation and academic planning efforts
Requirements
- Master’s degree
- 3 years of related experience
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage detailed information and multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with administrative systems, databases, and reporting tools
- Commitment to student service and collaborative problem-solving
- Ability to interpret policies and apply them consistently in a dynamic academic environment
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience with course scheduling and event management software (a plus)

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
