About the Role

The Academic Coordinator supports and coordinates a wide variety of campus academic processes and oversees credit and/or non-credit instruction or concurrent enrollment as designated.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees credit and/or non-credit courses including scheduling and adjunct faculty selection.
  • Works in partnership with campus marketing professional on promotion of classes and bulletin production.
  • Manages budget associated with credit and/or non-credit programming, First Year Experience, and other programs as assigned.
  • Works in partnership with the Assistant Dean of Instruction and student affairs to create semester class schedules.
  • Supports campus faculty in Canvas use, aiding and providing expertise.
  • Reviews and coordinates updates and all required documentation for campus adjunct faculty credentialing process.
  • Verifies, requests, and coordinates information in response to credentialing requests.
  • Coordinates learning management program including textbook adoptions, desk copy requests, and assisting with student return of textbooks.
  • Co-leads campus First Year Experience.
  • Serves as a resource and support for adjunct faculty with technical, operational, and material needs.
  • Provides assessment assistance to Assistant Dean of Instruction when necessary.
  • Assigns and coordinates training for newly hired adjunct faculty and ongoing adjunct faculty when needed.
  • May serve as liaison with the CEPA Coordinator or be designated as the CEPA Coordinator to ensure CEPA classes are programmed and running properly.
  • Reviews and verifies course syllabus in Canvas for all credit and/or non-credit adjunct and other adjunct faculty as needed.
  • Participates in campus committees and events, and may chair committees as assigned (e.g., professional development committee, instructional equipment committee).
  • Handles records management, data, and reporting as needed for all areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position (e.g., a Bachelor’s Degree along with two years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience).
  • Desired experience may include aspects of program coordination and support, community education, and demonstrated knowledge of technology used in educational environments.
  • Proficiency with current technology applications, including technology used in education.
  • Detail orientation and accuracy in recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external parties.
  • Experience with organizing, promoting, and coordinating processes and events.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
  • Must perform assigned duties within the State of Colorado and accurately report work location at all times.

Pay

Hiring range: $68,469.15 - $76,076.85 annual salary, depending on a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skills and experience.

Schedule

  • Altered work schedule including evenings and weekends may be required at times.
  • Travel within CMC service area may be required based on position responsibilities.

Working Conditions

  • Constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving.
  • Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling.
  • Frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger movements.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant written and oral communication.
  • Occasional reasoning, analyzing, and performing calculations.
  • Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Occasional driving of a vehicle.
