About the role
The Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in the Section of Microbiology in the Division of Clinical Pathology.
Responsibilities
- Technical and scientific oversight of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at University Hospital
- Leadership for staff, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the laboratory
- Serving as a subject matter expert and consultant, collaborating with physicians and other health care providers
- Training pathology residents, infectious disease fellows, and medical students
- Providing clinical microbiology direction to the University Hospital clinical microbiology laboratory, including laboratory oversight, test validation, and maintaining CAP accreditation of the section
Requirements
- Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is desirable
- Molecular microbiology knowledge is also desirable
- A strong academic orientation with evidence of scholarly achievement and proposals or current funding for translational research projects
