Academic Breast Radiation Oncologist

Full-time position in the Johns Hopkins Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.

About the role

The department is seeking an academically-focused breast radiation oncologist to lead the Johns Hopkins breast radiation oncology service across all sites. Clinical activities include close multidisciplinary collaboration with breast surgeons, medical oncology, and other breast cancer care providers. The successful candidate will participate in the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and work closely with the integrated clinical team at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the National Capital Region, and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Research opportunities span clinical, physics, and biology-based interests, with an emphasis on innovative clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Johns Hopkins breast radiation oncology service across all sites.
• Collaborate closely with breast surgeons, medical oncology, and a diverse multidisciplinary team of breast cancer care providers.
• Participate in the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.
• Engage in research combining clinical, physics, and/or biology-based interests, with a focus on innovative clinical trials.

Requirements

• M.D. degree(s).
• ABR board certification (preferred) or eligibility.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in Radiation Oncology.
• Strong interest in the clinical care and research of breast cancer patients.

Pay

The salary range represents the minimum and maximum for this position, based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other relevant considerations.

Vaccine Requirements

• Seasonal flu vaccine: Required for all faculty, staff, and students.
• Exceptions may be provided for religious beliefs or medical reasons.

For positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact, documentation of immune status against Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap vaccination is required. This may include documentation of two MMR vaccines, two Varicella vaccines, or antibody status from laboratory testing. Vaccinations will be provided at no cost in the Occupational Health office.
