About the role

The Academic and Global Programs Coordinator provides leadership and administrative support at the intersection of global engagement and academic excellence within the College of Education (CED).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the development and implementation of global engagement initiatives aligned with the College’s strategic priorities.
  • Career and Global Programs Coordination – 50% Coordinate and support global learning opportunities for College of Education students, including study abroad programs, exchange opportunities, and international teaching partnerships.
  • Assist with the coordination of visiting scholars, faculty exchanges, and international partnerships involving inbound and outbound faculty engagement.
  • Serve as the primary College of Education liaison with the NC State Office of Global Engagement (OGE) regarding global programming activities and student support needs.
  • Coordinate logistical and operational elements related to global experiences, including communication, scheduling, student support, and program administration.
  • Communicate with and provide support to international exchange students participating in College of Education programs, serving as a resource and liaison as needed between students, faculty, CED, and OGE.
  • Partner with the College of Education Communications team to support communications and promotional efforts related to global engagement initiatives and activities.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field pertinent to international education, global studies, higher education, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Understanding of international education, global issues, educational research, and innovation.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of international education, global engagement programming, and the integration of teaching, research, and innovation within higher education environments.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to develop and sustain global learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
    • Experience supporting curriculum development, academic partnerships, and global experiential learning initiatives in collaboration with academic units and partner institutions.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to oversee the logistical and operational coordination of international programs and global experiences.
    • Ability to serve as a primary liaison between students, faculty, university offices, and international partners while providing high-level customer service and problem resolution.
    • Experience advising and supporting varied student populations, including prospective, outbound, incoming international, and returning students participating in global programs.
    • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively support international visitors, exchange students, and global partners.
    • Knowledge of university processes and compliance considerations related to international travel, study abroad programming, student support, and global partnerships.
    • Financial management skills, including the ability to monitor program budgets, track expenditures, and support the fiscal operations of global initiatives.
    • Experience supporting grant development, external funding opportunities, and partnership-building initiatives related to international education and global engagement.
    • Ability to assist students in identifying and navigating funding opportunities and financial support resources for participation in global experiences.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting marketing, outreach, website content, and social media initiatives that promote academic and global engagement activities.
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative higher education environment.
