Responsibilities
- Advise students on complex academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Update student advising records and contribute to the development of academic advising-related programming.
- Work with students who pose retention risks to ensure they reach academic, personal, and professional success.
- Provide direction and supervision to Advisor I positions.
- Receive, process and respond to academic inquiries according to established policies and procedures, handling requests that require escalation due to complexity.
- Serve as a main point of contact for students who pose retention risks, providing complex organizational information about educational options, academic requirements, and institutional resources and addressing their needs.
- Counsel students in identifying and assessing their interests, skills and values to match appropriate fields of study and career options and refer students to appropriate institutional resources.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate student records according to program policies.
- Develop, plan and implement academic advising programs such as workshops, panel discussions and guest speakers.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Academic Advisor I positions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- Relevant experience: 3 years (Required)
Pay
$46,904.00 - $70,366.40
