Position Information
The Academic Advisor - Academic Advising (Part-Time) position supports the mission of Sinclair College by providing academic goal setting and advising services for students. The position is located on the Main Campus in Dayton, OH.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional work experience required; experience in higher education or student services preferred
- Ability to encourage students toward the identification and completion of their academic goals by suggesting activities and behavioral changes that student may, or may not be willing to adopt
- Strong understanding of the College’s mission and policies and the ability to balance the needs of academically underprepared, underrepresented students, and the resources available
- Ability to provide strong customer service orientation through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem solving, and desire to identify and support student success and completion
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA guidelines
- Continually assimilate new information to provide accurate and timely information to students that will foster student success
- Represent a positive example in the way they interact with their peers, supervisors, and with their students
Qualifications

Pay
The hourly pay rate for this position is $30.51 and has a maximum of 28 hours per week. After in-person training, advisors in good standing may have the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely.
Schedule
This position is part-time, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
