About the role

As the Area Director of Finance, you’re responsible for budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss reporting, and financial oversight across up to four hotels. You’ll oversee income auditing, cashiering, accounts payable, collections, tax compliance, payroll, and month-end close processes. This high-profile Executive Committee role ensures financial controls, accurate reporting, and profitability for each hotel. This position is overtime eligible (OEM), with overtime calculated accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and month-end financial reporting, including payroll, income audits, accounts payable/receivable, and cash/credit management with precision.
  • Lead month-end close processes: prepare journal entries, track accruals, reconcile balance sheets, ensure tax compliance, and analyze profit performance.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with company vision, providing analytical support to departments and leading forecasting efforts.
  • Champion financial controls, variance analysis, capital budget management, and audit oversight to safeguard assets and drive profitability.
  • Foster a sales-driven culture, ensuring accurate P&Ls and actionable financial insights for operational teams.
  • Guide, train, and inspire the finance team through feedback, P&L reviews, cross-training, and a values-driven approach to performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel finance or a comparable industry.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, P&L reporting, and financial data analysis to drive actionable solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing, cross-trained finance teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly in writing and group settings.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS/PMS systems, and Excel.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and maintain performance under pressure.
