AAA Roadside & Tow Driver

AAA Springfield, VA Fleet is seeking full-time drivers to join our Roadside Assistance team. Our technicians help members in all weather conditions with services like changing flat tires, jumpstarting car batteries, or towing vehicles.

About the Role

We are looking for dependable, empathetic individuals with strong customer service skills who enjoy helping others and are comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide tow and recovery services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
• Perform lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts, and tire change services following established protocols.
• Communicate effectively with members to ensure their safety and keep them informed.
• Make sound decisions to safely service vehicles and accommodate member needs.
• Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete reports.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Secure fleet vehicles and equipment at all times, including when not in use.
• Participate in special events promoting the AAA brand (e.g., parades, media appearances).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
• Ability to pass a bi-annual physical examination as required by Department of Transportation and/or Company policy.
• 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment, technical school training, or 3 years in a sales/customer service role (preferred).
• Satisfactory pre- and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
• Must complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire.
• Must attain and maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and using assigned technology.
• Proficiency with hand tools, email, and GPS.
• Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks, including manual and automatic transmissions.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 pounds, bend, kneel, and balance to perform services.

Pay

• Competitive hourly rate of $27.00, based on experience and position.
• 10% shift differential for working 2nd shift.
• Opportunity for overtime during peak seasons.
• Individual monthly bonus potential.

Schedule

• Schedule determined after training and will include weekends.
