A220 Ground Test Inspector (Contract)

Airbus is looking for an A220 Ground Test Inspector (Contract) to join the Manufacturing team in Mobile, Alabama.

About the Team

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities assembles commercial aircraft across two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor, you’ll collaborate with individuals passionate about aviation and skilled in electrical, structural, and quality disciplines.

Working Environment

The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility, located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, opened in 2015 and produces A320 Family aircraft. A second production line for the A220 was added in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and supports Airbus’ global competitiveness by meeting customer needs in the United States and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the aircraft and workstation surroundings for tests on various avionics and systems in a safe environment.
• Perform function tests on all systems (flight controls, navigation, passenger entertainment, etc.) in parallel with aircraft assembly.
• Prepare, coordinate, and perform troubleshooting on aircraft systems and test environments with responsible engineering teams.
• Organize documentation of non-conformities in the SAP NC system and initiate retests (Repeat Test Instruction) after rework completion.
• Clarify and improve test instructions and test systems with appropriate engineering teams.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years of aviation experience within avionics systems, including troubleshooting aircraft systems.
• Ability to complete Airbus-provided trainings after recruitment, including:
  • Health & Safety
  • General aircraft familiarization
  • Quality Training
  • Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and techniques.
• Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
