About the role

Kern Medical is seeking a Team Specialist - Temporary - Full-time to join our dynamic team. This role offers a competitive salary range of $24.7651 to $33.2822 per hour, with potential for additional compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a Cerner functionality champion and workflow expert, providing real-time support to end users in hospitals and clinics.
  • Serves as a support during the training process and addresses issues that arise.
  • Communicates improvements, suggestions, and changes to leadership and serves as a liaison between Cerner and Kern County Hospital Authority.
  • Conducts research to stay updated on advancements in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Enters and retrieves data from various databases, processes, and maintains records and reports.
  • Provides additional and impromptu Cerner training to end users as needed.
  • Attends governance meetings to ensure accurate regulatory information and updates are communicated.
  • Participates in Cerner builds as needed.
  • Works in the Simulation Lab as assigned or when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of undergraduate education with a Pre-Med course of study OR High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, plus two (2) years of education, training, and/or experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Knowledge of basic socioeconomic principles, individual and group behavior principles, community resources, public relations principles, interviewing techniques, applicable local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, laws, and programs; case management principles; computer and related software applications; clear communication skills and ability to listen; excellent analytical and technical skills; proven skills with workflows; reading, comprehending, and explaining regulations and procedures; resolving conflict; speaking in public; recording client information; maintaining client files; and, communicating both orally and in writing.
  • Some positions may require a valid California Driver’s License.

Qualifications

Employees are designated “Disaster Service Workers.” In the event of a disaster or civil disorder, all Kern Medical employees are required to remain at work or report to work in a safe and practicable manner. Employees may be required to drive a personal vehicle or one owned, leased, or rented by Kern Medical, depending on their role.
