About the role
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) seeks an A-Repairman - Electrician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain various electrical systems and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain transformers, motors and their control circuits, HVAC systems, motor operated doors, boilers, power distribution systems and all types of lighting.
- Read blueprints, schematics.
- Lift heavy objects.
- Work in elevated locations and in cramped quarters.
- Perform various other duties as assigned to the facilities maintenance department.
- Adhere to safety rules, policies, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings.
- Report hazards, unsafe acts, near misses, injuries, and accidents immediately.
- Refrain from willful violations of safety rules and procedures, reckless and negligent behavior, involvement in criminal activities, and the misuse of drugs or alcohol.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of electrical experience performing installation, maintenance, and repair work involving all electrical circuits carrying 600 volts.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Completed a certified Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship.
- Possess a Journeyman Wireman’s card/certification.
- Electrical Master’s License or equivalent is acceptable.
Qualifications
Experience: Five (5) years of electrical experience performing installation, maintenance, and repair work involving all electrical circuits carrying 600 volts. Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Completed a certified Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship. Possess a Journeyman Wireman’s card/certification. Electrical Master’s License or equivalent is acceptable.
