A-Repairman Bus Maintenance

About the role

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join their team as an A-Repairman-Bus. This position involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining buses and their components.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain buses and their components.
• Diagnose and correct existing problems.
• Operate emergency trucks and handle MTA operation issues.
• Overhaul and perform machine services on vehicles and components.
• Lift and replace units as required.
• Perform other tasks of a similar nature as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of full-time experience repairing, maintaining, or inspecting heavy vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with fleet garage environments.
• Own hand tools necessary for the position.
• Reliable communication link for emergencies.
• Ability to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Exposure to various hazards requiring protective clothing and safety equipment.
• Physical ability to perform tasks in a heavy maintenance shop environment.
