A&P Mechanic II, Engines
About the role
Join the StandardAero Houston team and become a part of a Business Aviation MRO with over 50 years of industry leading expertise. As an A&P Engine Mechanic II at StandardAero’s Houston MRO facility (IAH), you will put your skills and powerplant expertise to use performing overhauls, major inspections, and heavy maintenance on Honeywell TFE731 and CFE738 turbofan engines.
Responsibilities
- Utilize precision instruments such as micrometers, torque wrenches, and calipers to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engines and APUs
- Navigate, research, and reference technical digital documents, OEM Light and Heavy Maintenance manuals
- Perform routine maintenance and major inspections on Honeywell turbofan engines
- Disassemble and re-assemble engines, adhering to OEM technical manual specifications
- Remove and reinstall engines on aircraft for major periodic inspections and core zone inspections
- Perform incoming and outgoing engine runs and line maintenance, as required
- Evaluates removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies
- Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner
- Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters and Airworthiness Directives
- Participate in ongoing training initiatives on and off site through partners like CAE, FlightSafety, and Honeywell
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 year of experience performing heavy maintenance on turbine engines
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in an engine overhaul, military depot, or MRO environment
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
- Authorized to work in the United States, without sponsorship
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Characteristics
- Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing turbofan engines
- Experience working on the Honeywell CFE738 or TFE731 engine lines
- Engine Run & Taxi Certifications on various corporate aircraft models
- Experience working in a Test Cell environment
