A/D ASSOCIATE COUNSELOR, LEAD

About the Role
The main purpose of this position is to lead lower level addiction counselors working in the Outpatient Program (OP) and with clients in the Medicated Assistant Treatment program by providing clinical oversight and guidance. This position also provides individual, group, and family counseling services to clients. This role works with Buprenorphine prescribers, nurses, and clients to meet needs. This position is designated as emergency essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to lower level addiction counselors in the Outpatient Program (OP) and Medicated Assistant Treatment (MAT) program.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling services to clients.
- Collaborate with Buprenorphine prescribers, nurses, and clients to address program needs.
Requirements
Education and experience are determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Associate Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.
Qualifications
- Certification by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (in accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations 10.58.07).
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle).
- Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the MAT program and client scheduling.
- Experience communicating with local agencies.
- Experience managing caseloads, including authorizations and treatment plans.
