About the role

The Small Arms/Artillery Repairer maintains electronic systems of various weapons used by the Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic systems of small arms and artillery
• Operate electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment
• Learn and develop skills for potential civilian careers in electronics, avionics, or missile facilities

Requirements

• Enlist in the Army National Guard
• Be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma/GED
• Be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Meet citizenship requirements (details available at NATIONALGUARD.com)

Qualifications

• Preference for work requiring accuracy and attention to detail
• Interest in working with weapons

Skills

• Electronic and mechanical principles and concepts
• Understanding schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams

Schedule

Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Pay

Enlisted members earn a regular paycheck during training.
