The University of Mary Washington (UMW) seeks an organized, collaborative, and service-oriented professional to serve as Assistant Director for IT Administration within the Division of Information Technology.

About the role

This position is responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to ensure effective use of technology
  • Managing IT projects and initiatives
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards

Responsibilities

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT administration or a related field
  • Experience with IT project management
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with IT security and compliance

Skills

Essential skills required for this position include:

  • Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year.

Schedule
