About the role

This is a full-time, 4th shift position (Friday–Sunday, 6:30 PM–4:30 AM).

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
• Optimize workflow to ensure all operations have their utility needs met.
• Check in and check out equipment.
• Scrub facility floors using propane-powered equipment.
• Move cardboard bales from balers into trailers using lift equipment.
• Run supplies to the operations floor.
• Fill trash compactor.
• Ensure all work, including that performed by subcontractors, complies with OSHA regulations and Carter’s safety rules.
• Maintain good housekeeping and collaborate with management, peers, and subordinate employees to maximize productivity while minimizing conflict.
• Maintain facility property, including building grounds, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, and security systems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Proven ability to multitask as part of a team.
• Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to abide by all Carter’s policies and procedures, including the attendance policy.
• Knowledge and adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Physical and Work Demands

• Flexibility to work different shifts and extended hours based on business needs, including daily overtime, holidays, and peak periods.
• Ability to work from heights while harnessed into equipment.
• Must be able to stand throughout the entire shift and wear work boots.
• Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to forty pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Holiday schedule determined by management.
• Must be available to work overtime during peak periods, including days off of normal shift.
• Compliance with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by management.
