About the Role
Sioux City truck drivers are responsible for delivering AP products to job sites. This includes the operation of knuckle booms to off-load product and anchoring of bulk feed tanks. Drivers will assist in loading product at the warehouse, plus other warehouse duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively load and offload products.
- Deliver product to job sites and communicate with office, warehouse, fellow drivers, and site personnel.
- Ensure trucks and equipment are properly inspected and maintained.
- Operate knuckle booms, hammer drills, impact guns, and other related equipment.
- Advise managers and supervisors on issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, and training.
- Adhere to all company policies.
- Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and cost control, waste reduction, safety, and complete on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.
Safety Responsibilities
- Make safety a part of daily work activities.
- Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Follow appropriate safety rules and procedures.
- Recognize and facilitate the elimination of any unsafe acts or conditions within the facility.
- Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment and property damage.
- Participate in annual driver safety training.
- Understand oversize load regulations and signing.
- Safely climb 35-foot feed tanks.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL A Driver license, combination and air brake endorsement.
- 2+ years of truck driving experience.
- Current medical card.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to take instruction and work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Crane certification for knuckle boom crane.
- Knowledge of rigging for overhead lifting.
Pay
Expected total compensation for this role will be $26.00 to $31.00 per hour depending upon job-related knowledge, experience, and skills. Up to 5% potential variable incentive program.
