About the Role

Mercy Clinic Pittsburg is seeking a full-time BE/BC Hematology Oncologist to join our well-established cancer center in Pittsburg, KS. This position is available due to growth in the practice, with a quick ramp-up expected. Call coverage involves only one hospital, which is attached to the clinic.

Originally opened 26 years ago and renovated in 2022, Mercy Pittsburg Cancer Center offers state-of-the-art cancer detection and treatment services, including:

  • Sophisticated radiation therapy equipment
  • Chemotherapy
  • Seven private treatment suites
  • A refurbished patient and family resource room for education, nutritional counseling, and spiritual and emotional support
  • A recently added $1.5 million state-of-the-art TrueBeam linear accelerator

About Our Practice

Our experienced team includes:

  • 1 Radiation Oncologist
  • 1 Dosimetrist
  • 1 Physicist
  • 1 Oncology Pharmacist
  • 4 RNs
  • 1 MA
  • 1 Nurse Coordinator

Additional features of the practice:

  • 8 exam rooms
  • Multidisciplinary tumor board on-site weekly
  • Clinic adjacent to Infusion Center with onsite pharmacy
  • Active research program
  • Teaching affiliation with Kansas City University, including the ability to have medical students in clinic with a stipend
  • System-wide EPIC EHR
  • Diversity of cases due to a 30-mile radius catchment area

Compensation and Benefits

  • 2-year guarantee of $800,000
  • $100,000 in recruitment incentives
  • Up to $20,000 in relocation assistance
  • Qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) as a not-for-profit system
  • 4 weeks’ vacation plus 6 holidays (while on guarantee)
  • 1 week for CMEs and an annual $5,000 CME allowance
  • Comprehensive, day-one benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance
