About the role
A warm, welcoming family in Park Slope is seeking an experienced nanny to become a valued, long-term partner in caring for their child. Both parents have demanding careers with schedules that require flexibility. They are deeply involved in their child’s life and prioritize spending as much time with her as possible. The household is supported by a housekeeper and assistant, creating a collaborative environment where open communication, professionalism, and teamwork are highly valued.
Responsibilities
The schedule is Monday through Friday with 50+ guaranteed hours per week. Typical hours will include mornings, late afternoons, and evenings, with flexibility needed based on the family’s work schedules. Additional hours may be needed during especially busy work periods, and additional Saturday morning hours are available to interested candidates. The nanny’s primary responsibility will be caring for the family’s energetic 2.5-year-old daughter.
- Managing routines, preschool drop-off and pick-up, planning engaging activities and playdates, preparing healthy meals and snacks, children’s laundry, and supporting bath and bedtime routines
- Provide attentive, engaging care for the child
- Plan enriching, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and exploration
- Support developmental milestones, including potty training
- Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene
- Establish and maintain consistent daily routines, including meals, naps, and bedtime
- Coordinate playdates, outings, and preschool-related activities
- Manage the child’s laundry and keep children’s bedrooms, play areas, and belongings organized
- Run occasional child-related errands as needed
- Communicate openly with the parents and collaborate effectively with the housekeeper and assistant
Requirements
- Minimum five years of full-time nanny experience
- Experience in private or high-profile households preferred
- Outstanding professional references
- CPR and Infant First Aid certified (or willing to renew)
- Fully vaccinated
- Flexibility with the schedule
- Comfortable signing a confidentiality agreement (NDA)
- Pet-friendly (the family has two friendly cats)
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and discretion

The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and alongside other household staff. They should be warm, playful, and highly engaged, with a calm and confident demeanor. The candidate should be organized, proactive, and able to work independently, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing schedules.
