About the role
The family in Gramercy Park, Manhattan is seeking an experienced, Spanish-speaking nanny to become a trusted, long-term partner in caring primarily for their infant daughter. Both parents work full-time and are looking for someone who is nurturing, proactive, dependable, and excited to grow with their family over the coming years.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the children's care, safety, and well-being
- Prepare bottles and feedings, and clean and sterilize feeding equipment
- Manage diaper changes and support healthy hygiene habits
- Manage the baby's daily routines, including feedings, naps, tummy time, and play
- Foster healthy development through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
- Read, sing, and encourage language, sensory, and social development throughout the day
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Manage the children's laundry and keep their bedrooms, play areas, and belongings clean and organized
- Cook and prepare meals for the family
- Coordinate playdates and age-appropriate outings
- Maintain the children's schedules and provide regular communication with the parents
- Run occasional child-related errands
- Work collaboratively with the parents and housekeeper
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional nanny experience, including significant infant experience
- Fluent Spanish required
- Strong communication skills
- Experience supporting infant development and milestones
- CPR and Infant First Aid certified (or willing to renew)
- Comfortable traveling with the family several weeks each summer
- Comfortable working alongside the family’s housekeeper
- Pet-friendly (small dog in the home)
- Current flu vaccination
- Outstanding professional references
