Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance
• Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate)
• Collect patient’s health information
• Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
• Give oral medications and injections to patients
• Test a patient’s blood sugar levels
• Urinary catheter insertion and care
• Absorb changes in patients
• Maintain proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patient’s medical records
• Ask questions when in doubt for clarification by the Registered Nurse
• Act as a role model for ancillary personnel
• Maintain the confidentiality of the patient’s clinical records
• Exceptional staff training and customer service skills
• Courteous and friendly demeanor

Requirements

• Current LPN license in the state
