6-380-Facilities Maintenance 3rd Shift-Mechanic A, Maintenance

Pay

$32.60 – $35.00 per hour. Hourly rate may be adjusted based on experience and placement test results. Position offers step increases through Boar’s Head established training programs.

Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Start devices to test their performance.
• Set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Perform tasks as described and assigned by the department lead/supervisor.
• Work as a team player, ensuring product specifications are attained safely and efficiently.
• Communicate well with other team members.
• Assist other departments as assigned by lead, supervisor, or manager.
• Follow the company’s GMPs, SOPs, plant rules, and other policies and codes of conduct.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Strive to satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers.
• Keep work area clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Computer literate for completing daily work within a CMMS system.
• Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basic industrial mechanical systems, electricity, and utilities.
• Ability to diagnose industrial mechanical systems, equipment, and utilities problems.
• Strong knowledge of shop equipment setup and operation.
• Strong TIG or stick welding experience.
• Willingness to attend required vendor training as needed.
