5th Grade Teacher

About the role

St Clare of Montefalco in Grosse Pointe Park is seeking a full-time 5th Grade Teaching Position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson planning materials and classroom for class activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varied needs.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to learn at their pace and in their way.
• Audit students on a regular basis to check for growth, along with standardized assessments following school assessment schedule.
• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children for the year.
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and review of the position.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Stay up to date on Best Practices as it pertains to any and all teaching initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Elementary Education Teaching Certificate.
• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Strong teaching ability; enjoy working with children.
• Ability to work well with students and colleagues.
• Willingness to work with a developing curriculum, as well as contribute ideas to enhance the respective academic programs.
• Maintain school and AOD protocols as it pertains to certifications, classes, and directives.
