#597 Deli/Bakery Clerk

Responsibilities

• Provide products and services meeting customer requirements using proper phone etiquette.
• Answer customer questions and communicate with management.
• Maintain stock levels, ensuring all products are fresh and properly displayed.
• Follow health regulations and safety standards concerning sanitation and food handling.
• Take product from cooler or backroom to sales floor, open cases, and stock shelves.
• Prepare cakes, pies, cupcakes, decorated cookies, and novelty items for display.
• Prepare, pack, label, and merchandise deli/bakery items according to Gristedes policy.
• Inspect displays, cases, and shelves for quality, pulling out-of-date, spoiled, or stale items.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of work area and floor.
• Perform duties of department manager in their absence (for full-time associates only).
