5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist

About the Role
OMW is seeking a high-caliber CNC Programmer/Machinist with at least five years of experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming complex five-axis parts on full five-axis CNC machines with robotic pallet systems, probing, laser offsetting, and tool breakage detection. You must understand the quality demands of human flight-critical aerospace parts and be familiar with AS9100 Quality requirements. Leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility toward quality work are essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex programming for 3-, 4-, and full 5-axis horizontal and vertical mills, and lathes
- Perform set-ups on mills and lathes
- Work with materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and Invar
- Design tooling and fixtures
- Use inspection tools to validate and monitor dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot problems and edit programs as needed
- Proactively communicate with planners, management, and team members
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Maintain shop equipment as required
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other tasks as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of 5-axis CNC programming/machinist experience with horizontal and vertical mills (lathe experience a plus)
- Ability to identify and procure effective tooling and work-holding solutions
- Ability to work with Solid Modeling CAD programs for file inspection and modification
- Experience machining complex components to tight tolerances under tight deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T
- Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, etc.) and basic CMM familiarity
- Knowledge of multiple CAM software programs (Surfcam, NX, and HSMWorks experience a plus)
- Fixture design and process engineering experience a plus
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, or qualifying Political Asylee/Refugee) due to ITAR/EAR export control regulations
