About the role
Join our team of dedicated professionals focused on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to:
- Focus on delivering projects by leading significant portions of a variety of facilities throughout the design and construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead.
- Hands-on involvement in developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs, and specifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents.
- Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals.
- Coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Absorb and communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects.
Responsibilities
As an Associate Engineer-Civil, you will be responsible for:
- Performing design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs.
- Assisting the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Assisting the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants.
- Interfacing directly with the client or sub-consultants under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
- Supporting business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients.
- Utilizing knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry.
- Applying knowledge to complex projects, finding and developing non-standard design solutions to better serve clients project specifications.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team.
- Preparing a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
- Performing complex research and developing recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Planning and conducting independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Reviews engineering work and/or assignments of early career professionals.
- Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
- Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration.
- Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations).
- Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
