4200 Local Truck Driver-Day Shift

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates tractor/trailer.
• Operates a forklift to load, unload, move product to various locations and stack material.
• Checks tractor and trailer for safe operating condition before use.
• Informs supervisor of any problems or maintenance needs.
• Transports finished goods, packaging materials, and pallets between the Company production facility, distribution center, and outside warehouses.
• Sets up delivery trailers at the Company warehouse and chocks wheels.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Maintains tractor and trailer in a neat and clean condition.
• Fulfills safety rules and company policies.
• Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
• Performs other work as directed by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school education plus additional training preferred.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Current Commercial Driver's License and DOT approval.
• Certified forklift operator.

Physical Demands

• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
• Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
• Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
• Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
• Eye/hand/foot coordination to operate forklift.

Work Environment

• Works outside a significant portion of the day, subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetness from rain.
• Contact with dust, ink, oil, and grease.
• Operates Company vehicles on public highways, on a regular basis.
