Job Summary
The Leadman position is responsible for managing and supervising construction projects involving solar installations. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the construction crew.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
- Resolve conflicts and address issues among team members and stakeholders.
- Train and mentor new employees as needed.
Management Responsibilities
As a Leadman, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing safety protocols.
- Managing subcontractors and vendors.
- Overseeing the installation of solar systems.
- Ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in solar installation or construction management.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 52 pounds.
- Experience working in outdoor construction environments.
Certifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Commercial Building Installation Association (CBIA) certification preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
The Leadman position involves:
- Lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, moving in and around confined and cluttered spaces.
- Full range of motion and flexibility.
- Repetitive movement.
- Climbing and maintaining balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Working up to a 12-hour shift.
- Extensive walking throughout the shift.
- Additional personal protection equipment (PPE) may be required.
